Procedures perfomed in Estetica - Periodontics
Periodontics Periodontics is a domain of dentistry dealing with treating so called "periodontitis". In our centre we carry out comprehensive treatment of periodontal diseases. We provide both a professional hygiene counselling, we remove the tooth calculus and we also brace the wobbly teeth. Moreover, after a proper preparation we apply surgical methods of treating "periodontitis" with the use of modern solutions enabling the periodontium growth (Bio-oss, Fisiograft, Emdogain).
Periodontal diseases treatment consists of 3 stages:
  • initial treatment - hygienizing stage,
  • basic treatment (bracing, medication application, surgical treatment)
  • maintenance treatment
During the initial stage we diagnose the problem. In case of the most frequently appearing form of "periodontitis" we conduct a detailed oral cavity hygiene counseling, we recommend an accurate scaling, that is removing the subgingival and supragingival calculus, and subsequently teeth polishing by the use of sand-blasting machine. Also, we recommend to take proper medications. This prepares us for the proper stage of treatment. During the basic stage of treatment we also brace the wobbly teeth. If necessary, we carry out an appropriate prosthetic treatment. After these procedures we refer you to our surgeon. The surgical treatment aims at:

Reparation:
  • open flap curretage,
  • gingivectomy,
Regeneration:
  • application of biomaterials: Bio-Oss, Fisiograft, Emdogain,
  • application of Bio-Gide barrier membranes,
Inproving the periodontium aesthetics:
  • covering the gums recession
Maintaining the achieved treatment effect is possible only thanks to a proper hygiene, frequent check-ups and implementation, if need be, an additional treatment (most often removing the calculus). In patients with missing teeth it is very important to replace them. (see: Prosthodontics)
